CARVILLE!!!!

Wow! I just observed a tremendous moment on the CNN poli-debate show Crossfire. James Carville takes the left side and Tucker Carlson takes the right, Carville lost his compsure during a 'debate' over the NEA proposal for educational measures dealing with 9/11. The right had a guest who seemed to agree with Franklin Graham (son of Billy Graham) who made the statement that the muslim religion is an EVIL religion. Carville cussed and kicked about how everyone has this insane idea that calling a groups beleif system evil will not make them stop bombing and terrorizing people and that, in fact, would probably make it worse. He really cussed, by the way, anti-FCC stuff...
He brought up a very valid point, though, that it's the FUNDAMENTALISM of ANY religion that is evil. Fundemntalist christianity has crusades, kkk and Fred Phelps. There are jewish fundamentalism groups (zionists, UAMHT), hindu fundamentalist groups (Bharatiya Janata Party), hell, the little town of St. Marys, KS is a little haven for catholic fundamentalism. Even the very peaceful buddhaists become dogmatic and fundamentalist (drukpa). When these groups become extremists they all develop violent streaks. My beleif, of course, is that once you blindly believe something you're bound to it by your own ego, if something threatens your ego you become violent.

Who can really say which is right and which is not... It would be logical to assume nobody has the correct answer when shit like this still happens. Wouldn't you agree?

WHAT?

CURSOR

We are screwed as Americans. If we still are Americans. Seems a certain 'attorny general', who lost his senate election to a dead man, is hell-bent on removing freedom from the land of the free. He's got this little 'plan' to make some 'camps' for enemy combatants here in the united states. The first question is... what the hell is an 'enemy combatant'? Is it defined? My second question... feel the deja vu?

MUSIC

BADORB.COM

This is the Orb I've been waiting for. They're basically unleashed. They can say what they want to say and play how they want to play. They no longer have the constraints of a major label messing with their experimental integrity.
This is very esoteric stuff.
The Orb tracks are I am the red worm and cool harbour both with a very ragga feel. The other tracks on this comp are phenomenal. You've got a track by Creature (not to be confused with the Siouxsie/Budgie project "The Creatures") called 'ow much? that grooves with that auctioneer-rhythm-you-can't-envision-until-you-hear-it groove. There's a cover of Aqua's barbie girl in a german kraftwerkian soundscape. It's a must buy by my standards...
Cool harbour has a strange pulse that smacks of picking up where the late 80's left off in the world of electronic dance music... The whole thing is just really impressive...

There is a third new Orb track which comes on the Daleth of Elphame EP simply titled "outer space."
